Happy Chinese New Year Chinese
Lunar New Year is drawing near, the Incorporated Owners of Marina Cove and the
Management Office would like to present our sincere seasonal greetings to all of
you. Happy and Prosperous Chinese New Year! To welcome the Chinese New Year, our
workers have started to repaint the walls as well as the road signs of our
estate. Besides, several spotlights have been added to the marble signboard
¡¥Marina Cove¡¦ (outside Club Marina Cove) to make it more shiny during night
time. 2.
Security
Measures for Chinese New Year As
burglars are extremely active before and during Chinese New Year, we would like
to remind all residents to be more security cautious. (i)
Select
and use firm metal gates and door locks. (ii)
Consider
installing an alarm system. (iii)
Properly
shut /lock all windows and main doors before you go out or sleep. (iv)
Don¡¦t
leave valuables at home or in your car(s). (v)
Identify
your visitors before open the door. (vi)
Notify
the management office before you leave for long vacation and our guard will pay
special attention to your premises during patrol. Please
call the management office whenever you need help or find anything suspicious. 3.
Parking
Label Residents
who have not renewed the parking label, please come to the management office and
collect your new parking label on or before 22nd January 2001. The
old label will be invalid on 1st February 2001. Please renew your
parking label as soon as possible to avoid any inconvenience caused.

Lunar
New Year One Day Tour Organizing
by the Incorporated Owners of Marina Cove, the Lunar New Year One Day Tour will
be held on 11th Feb 2001 (Sunday).
The touring points include Chi-lin Temple, Plover Cove Reservoir and Gold
Coast Hotel. Lunch at Yuen Long with Chinese Haka Hot Pot and lucky draw with
attractive prizes will be held during the tour. Interested residents can book
the tour at the management office and HK$50 will be charged for each participant
(first come first served). 5. Proximate
Card The
installation of the Proximate Card System for our estate has just been
completed. However, we found that the distance of the sensor reader of the
System was not up to our satisfaction. The contracting company will make
improvement/alteration in this regard. As
it takes time for the alteration, the Proximate Card System cannot be in use
before the Chinese New Year. 6.
Dog shit Recently
dog shit is found near the lift of high-rise, in gardens and pontoon.
Residents should bring along a piece of newspaper to clean up dog¡¦s
shit whenever taking the dog out. To
keep up a better hygiene for our estate, please co-operate ! 7.
Iron fence for Section G Slope An
iron fence for Section G Slope is near completion.
As Chinese New Year is approaching, we have reinforced patrol around the
area. Moreover, Civil Engineering Department has promised to erect a chain-link
fence with barbed wire outside Section G Slope and near Hiram¡¦s Highway in
order to prevent trespassers. Letter
has been sent to the department requesting early commencement of the project. 8.
Tai
Chi Class Owing
to the success of the first Tai Chi Class held on last year, the Incorporated
Owners of Marina Cove would like to re-organize the second one.
The course will last for 4 months and will be conducted around mid of
February 2001. For details, please

Unauthorized
Parking Management
Office once again would like to request for your co-operation as unauthorized
parking will cause inconvenience to neighbor(s) and danger to pedestrian(s).
To avoid the problem becoming more serious, Management Office will
strictly carry out the duty of impounding vehicle(s), especially to those
vehicle(s) which is/are fully occupying the pavement. Your support and
understanding to this matter will be highly appreciated. 10.
Security precaution at entrance gates
To enhance the security of our estate, the guards at the entrance gates
have to check the identity card(s) of visitor(s) including all taxi passenger(s)
in order to avoid any trespasser(s). Moreover, resident(s) who is/are going to
move out or to deliver some big items, please notify the management office
before your removal/delivery. 11.
Study on South East New Territories Development Strategy Review The
above study was commissioned in March 1999.
The Draft Strategy includes three frameworks on Land Uses,
Tourism/Recreation and Landscape/Conservation, which aim to provide overall
guidance to the long term development of the South East New Territories
Sub-Region. It will also provide
the basis for more detailed planning at district level and for further
feasibility study and project implementation.
The Government is conducting public consultation and you are welcome to
forward any comments to them on or before 6 Feb 2001.

Unauthorized
House Structures We would like to remind all house owners that all
the unauthorized structures/extensions including carport conversion, open space
sealing, external wall alteration, roof extension and basement excavation, etc.
are illegal. The Building
Department conducts weekly inspection of illegal structures in our estate.
Therefore, in order not to break the law and cause damages, residents are
requested not to build any illegal house structures, especially those fixed
carport tents, which obstruct the pavement or the growth of tree(s). Let us cooperate to upkeep the nice environment of our
estate. 13.

Committee Meeting The
13th meeting of 5th Management Committee of the
Incorporated Owners of Marina Cove will be held on 18th January 2001
(Thursday), 8:30 p.m. at Club Marina Cove.
