MARINA COVE NEWSLETTER (May 2001) 

 

  

1.     Proximate Card

The proximate card system is in use in our estate over one month.  For security purpose, from now on, our guards will not lift up the gate barriers for incoming and outgoing vehicles.  Residents shall use the proximate card to lift up all gate barriers by themselves.  To avoid inconvenience, residents who have not yet obtained the proximate cards, please come to the Management Office for collection as soon as possible.

 

2.       Replacement of Gate Barrier

As the gate barrier at Gate No. 3 was seriously damaged, we have arranged contracting company to replace it with a new set of gate barrier.  The project has already been completed.  With better performance and design of the new barrier, the outlook of our estate has greatly improved.

 

3.       Marina Cove Frontage Works

As the captioned works will seriously affect the environment of the nearby area and will also increase the noise level in our estate, the Incorporated Owners of Marina Cove launched a campaign last month against the design of the above works.  In order to collect more signatures, residents who have not yet signed, please sign on the slip of the questionnaire and return it to the Management Office as soon as possible.

 

4.       Value Added Plan

To upgrade the property value and the image of our estate, the Management Office is carrying out a Value Added Plan.  We are using the minimum cost to improve the facilities in our estate.   We start with the three gate entrances :

 i)  Repaint three entrance gates

Our technical team has recently been busy in repainting the guard booths with an orange top and the traffic signs at all gate entrances. Moreover, the edges of the pedestrian pavement are repainted with yellow and black paint, which makes the gate entrances more smart and elegant.   

ii)           Wooden walkway in Gate No. 3

Stainless steel grating has been installed to the captioned walkway in order to solve flooding problem during rainy season.

iii)         Replacement of damaged water pipe at the ceiling of carport

Our technical team is carrying out the captioned project.  Residents who have damaged water pipe at the captioned location, please contact the Management Office for arranging replacement work.

 

5.      Questionnaire Survey

Recently we have conducted a questionnaire survey regarding the installation of fence at Dioramic Rise car park area and subsidies for recreational activities.  In order to collect opinions from residents, please fill in the questionnaire and return to the Management Office as soon as possible.

   

6.      Report of Cleaning

The cleaning workers are now washing the whole estate by section.  Besides, they are using high jet cleaning machine to wash all pedestrian pavements so as to remove the stains.

 

7.      Telephone Payment Service

PCCW-HKT Ltd. informs that there is a telephone payment service at 7-Eleven Stores.  Residents can pay the telephone bills (Cash Only) at the 7-Eleven Store located at the shopping center of Marina Cove.  For further enquiry, please contact Miss Kong at 12022.

 

8.      Landscape Report

i)              To upgrade the image of Marina Cove as well as to beautify the estate, the landscape group and the Management Office are now planning to plant more seasonal flowers in our estate.

ii)            Worms were found in the flower beds at the bridge of Section E, therefore, our gardeners have to remove the existing flowers so as to kill the worms.

 

9.       Remove Stagnant Water, Eliminate Mosquito for Healthy Living

The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department has launched an Anti-mosquito Campaign for 2001.  To prevent mosquito breeding, it is crucial to remove stagnant water.  All residents are requested to frequently remove stagnant water in plates underneath flowerpots.  Please also cover tightly all water containers and remove disused tyres. Your active participation is the key to the success of the Campaign.

The 17th meeting of 5th Management Committee of the Incorporated Owners of Marina Cove will be held on 31st May 2001 (Thursday), 8:30 p.m. at Club Marina Cove.  Interested owners please contact Miss Li of the IO office for arrangement.
